Business Terms

Coming into force: 01/03/2023

General provisions

  1. By entering the territory of the cinema and/or reserving, purchasing tickets, visitors are aware of and accept all statements of the Business Terms. We consider the awareness of the term as natural, lack of reading on the visitor’s behalf cannot be defined as any later reference.
  2. At least one copy of the Business Terms will be displayed on a visible spot on the territory of the cinema – please ask for guidance - and can also be found on www.cinemacity.hu. The cinema reserves the right to modify the order on time-to-time basis. Changes and the time of entry into force is published on Cinema City Hungary website
  3. All matters not addressed in the present document are under the jurisdiction of the Hungarian Legislation and Hungarian authorities.
  4. The Hungarian Media Authority declares each and every film coming to the country under an Age Rating process. The cinema recommends to keep the rating in consideration but does not allowed to obligate visitors especially in case of under age people.
  5. Visitors are fully responsible for making sure that children they accompany respect the Business Terms. They are obliged to tell children of all important rules of visiting the cinema in time and in an appropriate way and to supervise the respecting of these rules to a suitable extent.
  6. All visitors must purchase tickets irrespectively of age, profession or any other factors (children, journalists, police officers etc.)
  7. Cinema ticket becomes valid 30 minutes before the start of the show and expires at the end of the film. Territory and services of the cinema are reserved for the visitors with valid tickets. Cinema staff has the right to remove people from the territory of the cinema without valid tickets.
  8. Entering the rooms is possible only with a valid ticket 10 minutes before the start of the show in question, as long as the cimema staff does not instruct otherwise.
  9. Visitors must sit in the seat shown on their admission ticket, and keep the ticket and the receipt until leaving. If for any reason it is not possible to sit on this seat, the visitor must immediately inform the the cinema staff and follow the instructions given by them.
  10. Only one luggage – not bigger than 25 cm x 25 cm x 40 cm - per person can be brought to the cinema, luggage keeping service is not available. Luggages must be positioned in a way that will not block free passage.

 Laws and Regulations of Copyright

  1. In each and every auditorium of the cinema the use of any visual and sound recording devices (camera, video camera, phone, sound recorder etc.) is strictly forbidden. In order to avoid and block visual and sound recording activities, our staff is allowed to wear infrared glasses. Any recording activity is a violation of law and calls upon legal action and punishment based on civil rights. It is strictly forbidden to take photos of the cinema staff without their written permission. It is allowed to take photos outside the auditoriums in front of promotional materials with photo signal, unless the cinema territory and the cinema staff cannot be recognized on the picture.
  2. Visitors breaking the corresponding Hungarian Laws and Regulations of Copyright will be removed by the staff from the cinema and legal action will be taken against them.

Program

  1. The cinema updates the program on a weekly basis and publishes it on its official website: Cinema City Hungary

The cinema takes no responsibility for the incorrect information of shows and illustrations represented on media surfaces not owned or ordered by the cinema, or for any false, incorrect and untrue information including their consequences as discomfort or damage in case they are not originated from Cinema City network.

  1.  The starting date does not correspond to the beginning of the film because commercials and trailers are screened before the movie.
  2. The cinema reserves the right to vary the movie schedule as necessary.
  3. Information on any changes in the movie schedule will be provided until the start of the program in question.

Ticket Reservation

  1. The cinema ensures the possibility to collect booked tickets at least 30 minutes before the start of the show.  Tickets not collected in time are out of the cinema’s responsibility. VIP ticket reservation is not possible (Cinema City Arena, Cinema City Mammut Budapest).
  2. We are unable to issue reserved tickets out of turn.
  3. Booked tickets can be changed or cancelled in case of program change/hall change/other cases.The cinema tries to inform the visitors about the change at least until the start of the show, if they registered with real data
  4. The cinema keeps the right to change or cancel bookings in the following cases:
    1. intentional damage – the cinema takes legal action
    2. visitor provides wrong or incomplete data
    3. technical problems, hall change, other cases
    4. inappropriate reservation

Ticket purchase

  1. Cinema ticket can be purchased in person at the box offices. Online ticket purchase available from the official website www.cinemacity.hu and the official Cinema City Hungary mobile app, or through ATM machines located next to the box office of selected cinemas. Claims or complaints regarding purchased tickets, possibly got a ticket for a wrong date, time or film, or payments or refunds cannot be accepted after leaving the ticket office.

In case of tickets purchased online we suggest to check the ticket and data of the show before the transaction (cinema, date, time, film). Right after the transaction the confirmation letter and its attachments needs to be checked sent by our system. In case of problem or question of the transaction please contact our customer service: +36 80 800 800; +36 1 999 6161. Our costumer service is only available with a displayed phone number.

Tickets that are not bought from the cinema are out of the cinema’s responsibility.

  1. The cinema can change purchased tickets in case of program change/hall change/other cases. The cinema does not guarantee but bends every effort to offer the best similar row and seat number for visitors to keep the preferences of the original purchase but the features of the new hall needs to be taken into account. Visitors offered by this new ticket can cancel their purchase if the new row and seat number is not suitable for them for some reason. Cinema stuff can provide further information about the change.
  2. Regarding the validation of free tickets, the cinema is entitled to select which shows cannot be the subject of these tickets.
  3. We are unable to change money in our ticket offices.

Ticket price, discounts

  1. Ticket prices are displayed at the box offices and online on this site by choosing the preferred cinema on cinema page
  2. Discount can be validated after showing/handing over the appropriate card. For more information about the cards accepted please check Appendix 1. One ID can only be used for purchasing one discount ticket.

Concession products

  1. Any food or drink bought outside of the cinema cannot be delivered to the area of the cinema.
  2. The cinema is only responsible for the compliance of the distributional rules  of products that are not made by the cinema itself.
  3. This is a checkpoint in the Houserules. If you read this, you made us sooooo happy! :)
  4. In case of cancelled shows or tickets there is no way of repayment of the products purchased in the buffet or cafe of the cinema.
  5. In case of quality problem with products purchased in the concession or café of the cinema, it is suggested to address the complaint immediately to the cinema staff enclosing the product in question and the receipt. Otherwise the complaint may be rejected.

 Cancellation of tickets

  1.  In the case of PERSONAL ticket purchase at the box office, the ticket can be redeemed against a receipt or invoice at the box office where the performance is to be held, within opening hours, at the latest 1 hour before the start of the performance.

In case of tickets purched ONLINE the latest time you can cancel your order is 3 hours before the start of the show. In case of online purchase, if the ticket was purchased through the official Cinema City mobile app, the ticket can be cancelled by the registered user of the app within their account by clicking on Request Ticket Cancellation at least 3 hours before the start of the show. In case of cancellation the amount will be reimbursed within 14 days, and this cancellation fee cost will be deducted from the refundable amount. The amount of the current cancellation fee can be found in the Online Purchase Terms & Conditions or please contact our Customer Service. Our costumer service is only available with a displayed phone number.

When cancelling an online cinema ticket, only the entire transaction can be cancelled, no partial cancellations - i.e. cancelling selected cinema tickets from multiple tickets purchased within a single transaction - are possible.

The opening hours of the cinema or of the Call Centre must be taken into account when determining the deadline for cancellation. For general cinema opening hours, please visit www.cinemacity.hu.

When purchasing tickets online, we are unable to cancel the ticket or refund the ticket price in the following cases:
a. If the ticket was purchased less than 3 hours before the start of the film.
b. If the ticket purchased is not used.
c. If the guest provides incorrect or incomplete information to our customer service at the time of purchase.

We can only accept complaints about your purchase until the start of the film!

Cancelled, interrupted performance

  1. In the event of a performance being interrupted or cancelled (technical failure, power failure, bomb threat, natural disasters, force majeure, etc.), the cinema will endeavour to inform its visitors of their options. If the cinema does not provide any other information, it will issue an emergency ticket after the screening, on presentation of the ticket for the screening. The deadline for applying for and redeeming a Compensation Free Ticket is 90 days after the day of the cancelled or interrupted performance. Only holders of a valid cinema ticket for the performance concerned may exchange it for a cinema ticket for any performance of the same type as the original ticket at the box office of the cinema concerned, until the expiry of the redemption deadline indicated on the Compensation Ticket.
  2. If a technical problem should occur during the screening of the film, please report it to the cinema staff immediately after the problem has been detected and during the screening, so that it can be rectified as soon as possible. Complaints about the quality of the film (sound or image defects) or the behaviour of other spectators can only be refunded during the performance. Such complaints after the end of the film may be rejected by the cinema.
  3. If films are delayed, cancelled or delayed due to other technical faults, we are not able to compensate guests for any additional costs (e.g. parking, travel).

The cinema is private property

  1. The cinema is private property and the cinema reserves the right to refuse entry to or exclude certain persons from the premises at any time at its sole discretion.
  2. The cinema will file a police report against anyone damaging, stealing or not having a valid ticket, regardless of the value of the damage.
  3. The Visitor agrees to use the furniture and toilets of the cinema for their intended purpose. In the case of furniture: comfortable seating for the guest on the sofas and chairs in the rooms. Lying down and putting your feet up is strictly forbidden! Normal use for washbasins: washbasins are for hand and face washing only. In the event of damage, unsanitary behaviour and disturbance of other guests, the cinema staff may remove the guest from the cinema or require him to pay compensation for the damage.
  4. Only cinema staff are allowed inside the cinema, but in areas closed to the public, except for escape routes, only in the event of an emergency (e.g. fire). Unauthorised intruders will be prosecuted by the cinema for trespassing and trespassing on private property.

Protecting Visitors

  1. It is prohibited to bring into the cinema premises any object that is dangerous to public safety and/or disturbs the entertainment and comfort of other visitors. The Cinema reserves the right to decide which objects are included in this category, depending on the situation.
  2. The cinema staff has the right to remove from the cinema premises any visitor who is disorderly or disturbing the entertainment of other visitors in any way (e.g. using a mobile phone during a performance). In this case, the cinema is not obliged to refund the ticket price.
  3. No alcohol products are served to persons under 18 years of age.
  4. The wearing of masks and imitation weapons is prohibited in the cinema. It is also prohibited to wear clothing that causes fear in other spectators.

Security measures

  1. The cinema area is equipped with a security camera system, the images of which may be retained and recorded by the cinema. The cinema may use these recordings for the protection of its own property and to prove damage, but may only release or show them to private individuals in the context of official proceedings and only after having been requested to do so by an official body.
  2. Smoking (cigarettes, electric cigarettes, pipes) and the use of open flames is prohibited throughout the cinema. It is strictly forbidden to bring any flammable material into the cinema.

Exclusion of liability of the cinema

  1. The Cinema accepts no liability for the content of promotional material, films, trailers and advertisements displayed in the Cinema and will not compensate for any damage or loss arising from them.
  2. The cinema is not responsible for valuables brought into the cinema premises or for lost or abandoned valuables.
  3. The cinema will not be liable for any damage or injury caused to a moviegoer by another moviegoer.
  4. The cinema accepts no liability for technical equipment not operated by the cinema (e.g. heating, cooling, parking system).
  5. The cinema is not responsible for the areas outside the cinema premises and their cleanliness.
  6. Due to the limited lighting conditions in the cinema hall, despite thorough cleaning, please check the seats before taking your seats and, if you have any objections to their condition, please report them immediately to the cinema staff, otherwise we will not be able to compensate you for any damage to your clothing.

Parking

  1. Cinema guests can obtain a 3-hour parking discount at the cinema box office for a parking ticket purchased in the parking lot of the plaza, starting from the time of entry into the parking garage. The parking card can be validated at the box office before the start of the screening (a parking card can only be used once, even if the visitor may be watching a longer film or several films in a row, taking into account the duration of the advertising and previews shown before the films). In the event of technical problems (parking machines, parking by SMS), they must be reported to the person responsible for the car park on the spot.

Animals in the cinema

  1. No dogs or other animals are allowed in the cinema area. Except for assistance dogs.

Complaints forum

  1. In the event of a problem or complaint, it is recommended that you report it verbally to the cinema staff on site immediately. You can also contact us by telephone on +36 80 800 800 during the opening hours of the customer service. Our costumer service is only available with a displayed phone number.
  2. In the event of a complaint, you may also submit your comments in writing
    a. in the Customers' Book at the cinema where you have experienced the problem, or
    b. at I.T. Magyar Cinema Kft. by post to the Management of the I.T. Magyar Cinema Kft, 1132 Budapest, Váci út 22-24.

We are not in a position to investigate and deal with complaints notified by other means. Complaints about buffet products are subject to the specific provisions of point 31 of these Houserules.

The cinema may ask for the ticket and receipt when handling a complaint, so it is necessary to keep them until the complaint has been dealt with, even if the complaint is made in writing or verbally or by telephone on the premises.
